Who We Are
Avia Solutions Group, the world's largest Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance (ACMI) provider, is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Skytrans, a renowned regional airline in Queensland. As part of our expansion into the Australian market, we are set to introduce jet operations, starting with the Airbus A320 family of aircraft. This will be in addition to our well established Dash 8 and Caravan operation, servicing remote and regional Queensland as well as the Torres Strait.
Who You Are
You will be an experienced HR professional (officer or similar) capable of delivering effective end to end recruitment across all areas of the business. There will be a major focus on working to adequately staff our new jet operation as well as the natural growth needed within our corporate support services. In addition to this, you will also provide generalist HR support and advice to managers and employees on a wide range of day to day functions and matters.
What You Will Do
This position is full time based at our Cairns Head Office at Cairns Airport. Reporting to the GM People & Culture, the role will typically see you:
• Coordinate, facilitate, and support end-to-end recruitment (internal and external campaigns)
• Administer and coordinate new employee documentation, ensuring selected candidates receive a comprehensive new-starter pack promptly
• Monitor the effectiveness of recruitment efforts and identify areas for improvement
• Monitor and coordinate probationary reviews
• Give accurate and timely advice on a range of HR enquiries
• Co-ordinate, update and maintain HR documents, policies, formal letters, etc
• Assist the People & Culture Co-ordinator on general day to day matters
• Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports as required
• Contribute to the overall goal and strategy of the People & Culture team
What You Need to Succeed:
• Thorough knowledge and prior experience handling all functions of recruitment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships within the business
• Demonstrate initiative and attention to detail, as well as confidentiality in relation to staff employment matters
• Knowledge of the Fair Work framework and employment legislation relevant to the business
• Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities
• Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
• Valid Australian Working Rights (either as a citizen, permanent resident or an appropriate VISA holder)
