Proudly Australian owned and operated, Priestley’s Gourmet Delights is a family business with a passion for food at the heart of who they are and was recently announced as Food Supplier of the Year at the 2023 Foodservice Suppliers Association Australia Awards!
From humble beginnings, the business has grown since 1996 into a leading Australia-wide national sweet and savoury food supplier, focused on the foodservice, quick service restaurants and petrol & convenience channels, with plans to further diversify.
While Priestley’s is proud of its history as a pioneer in its industry, the business is firmly focused on the future and committed to remaining at the forefront of consumer and industry trends.
There is no more tangible evidence of that future focus than the relocation last month to a purpose-built, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Acacia Ridge. The move doesn’t just increase production capacity significantly, but enhances an already enviable ability to innovate and create when it comes to new product development.
About the Role:
2023 saw the transformation of Priestley’s human resources function, an ongoing process you will play a crucial role in. Under the leadership of a new Head of People & Culture, the team was substantially expanded, its strategic direction clearly defined, and a new HRIS scoped and selected.
You will work hand-in-hand with the Head of People & Culture in implementing that strategy, supported by a P&C Coordinator and a Payroll Officer as direct reports, as well as a Change Analyst and other admin resources supporting the broader P&C team.
While your day-to-day will encompass a broad spectrum of HR issues, you will particularly focus on leading activities with the Production leadership team, understanding resourcing needs and skill gaps and driving recruitment efforts to attract and onboard talent that aligns with company objectives.
You will also focus on coaching them in areas such as effective interviewing, coaching conversations with their people, upskilling their teams and effective performance and disciplinary conversations.
About You:
You are a Degree-qualified HR professional and:
- have specific experience working in manufacturing, processing or similar environments comprising both blue- and white-collar employees.
- can demonstrate having worked effectively with operational line managers to help them improve their skills in the areas mentioned above.
- love a fast-paced, high-energy environment where no two days are ever the same.
- Possess a “continuous improvement mindset” and are driven by the desire to explore what’s next.
Please note that applications submitted directly to Priestley’s Gourmet Delights will be forwarded to Simonyi Recruitment for assessment.
