Reporting to the GM People & Culture, the People & Culture Business Partner will serve as a consultant to management on P&C-related issues, acting as an employee champion and change agent to assess and anticipate the organisations P&C-related needs.

This role will lead, develop and mentor the P&C Advisor and P&C Officer, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment and ensuring effective delivery of P&C services. 

This role is based in the Perth CBD, with flexible work arrangements available to the successful candidate. Part-Time arrangements will be considered for the right person.

As the People & Culture Business Partner, you will:

  • Support the development and implementation of P&C strategies and initiatives, aligning with the overall business strategy and providing support and coaching to business leaders.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning, advocating for employees and ensuring a positive and engaging work environment.
  • Support the business in the recruitment and selection process, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention. 
  • Drive the annual performance review process and support management in day-to-day performance management, and setting performance objectives and development plans.
  • Handle workplace investigations, disciplinary and termination procedures.
  • Apply proactive, fresh thinking around existing P&C policies, systems and practices with a view to continually optimising efficient, better managing risk and continuously improving the company’s performance.
  • Lead and mentor the P&C Advisor and P&C Officer, providing constructive feedback to improve individual and team performance. 

Knowledge and Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Certificate in HR (e.g. AHRI-CP, AHRI-SCP) highly regarded.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Human Resources experience, with at least 3 in a Business Partner role.
  • Motivated team player with strong influencing and leadership skills, proven experience managing, coaching and developing teams.
  • Excellent emotional intelligence with the ability to effectively regulate emotions during periods of stress.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Strong written and oral skills, including the ability to explain complex matters in simple terms.
