About the Role
Located at our Head Office in Elermore Vale, the People and Culture Manager is accountable for the delivery of quality, customer-focused People & Culture services in a large not-for-profit organisation.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and operating as apart of the Senior Leadership Team, the People and Culture Manager oversees all aspects of People & Culture across the organisation to build, maintain and deliver of quality initiatives that support the achievement of the objectives identified in Atwea's Strategic Plan.
This full-time role requires a mature attitude and strategic understanding of the organisational goals, as well as the ability to inspire, educate and engagement employees.
Successful applicants should be able to confidently:
- Lead the people management and engagement function at Atwea College to achieve organisational goals./
- Provide leadership in fostering an open, positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership to design and implement people and culture initiatives to achieve organisational objectives with a focus on:
- improving attraction, engagement and retention of staff.
- implementing, monitoring and evaluating systems to improve staff performance.
- facilitating staff development by encouraging a culture of learning across the organisation.
- implementing, monitoring and evaluating systems to improve the safety and wellbeing of staff and students.
- Contribute to the communication of Atwea’s, vision, strategy, policies and procedures throughout the organisation.
- Actively pursue up to date knowledge of all relevant employment legislation and ensure such knowledge is effectively communicated to the organisation.
- Make staffing decisions and implement people and culture projects based on accurate and reliable data, ensuring all personal and business data is held securely.
- Ensure work health & safety processes are adhered to, promoting a culture of safe working practices & behaviours.
- Lead the proactive and timely management of all worker's compensation claims and return to work requirements.
About You

- Post-Graduate or Degree-level qualifications in Human Resource Management or a related discipline such as commerce, industrial relations, management or psychology.
- Industry (HR) experience of 7+ years
- Qualifications in Work Health and Safety.
- Apply expert knowledge of HR generalist functions regarding workforce planning, cultural reform, employee engagement and development, employee relations, WHS, equal opportunity and diversity, recruitment, retention, quality audits and organisation metrics.
- Demonstrate commitment to define, lead and proactively drive effective process changes and continuous improvement activities.
- Have high quality communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead and work collaboratively as a member of a diverse team.
