About the Role

Our People & Culture team are looking for a people person to join our team. You will be the first point of contact to support our leaders, team members and the wider P&C team by providing essential support through timely, accurate and informed advice, whilst coordinating and administering effective and quality services across the employee life cycle. 

As the People and Culture Officer you will provide support to the team across a wide range of HR functions including onboarding, recruitment, and training as well as all types of HR administration.

This position will suit someone who is highly organised and detail-oriented with previous HR experience who will proactively assist the team drive a people focused service model and support the ongoing improvement of our staff engagement and workplace culture.

You will play an important part in not only maintaining the day-to-day administration of our workplace relations function but diversify your skills as you assist the team deliver P&C services across the organisation.

We are seeking a highly motivated employee that has exceptional customer relations, administration and time management skills. You will have proven written and verbal communication skills, relevant work experience and able to work effectively in a team and independently as required.

Responsibilities will include

This position will provide a high-level support and will include a variety of duties and responsibilities ranging from responding to basic employment queries to assisting with the development and improvement of our policies, procedures and practices and basic advisory services.

Support leaders with responsive and accurate P&C support and advice. 

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from advertising roles to facilitating smooth onboarding experiences for new hires
  • Maintain a comprehensive suite of HR documents, including letters of offer, policies, procedures, and reports.
  • Ensure all organisational activities and operations in connection with the employment of staff are conducted in compliance with relevant legislation. 
  • Support other P&C functions including Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition and Employee Relations. 
  • Supporting the development and implementation of P&C initiatives and systems. 
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Prior experience in a People & Culture space is essential, along with the ability provide end-to-end support across a range of people and culture related needs. 

  • Minimum 3 years practical experience in a People & Culture space including demonstrated experience operating in high volume service delivery, including coordinating and administering HR functions
  • Applied knowledge of HR policies, process and systems and supporting leaders and employees to promote consistency, compliance and continuous improvement
  • Highly developed organisational skills including the prioritising of workloads, managing multiple and demanding deadlines and undertaking administrative tasks
  • Show sound judgment to make decisions and display appropriate sense of urgency
  • Ability to build strong relationships and trust throughout the organisation
  • A positive and productive approach to your working day
  • High awareness of site safety and duty of care for your team, staff and site visitors
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with high level of accuracy 
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to consult effectively and professional with a diverse range of individuals
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office suite and ability learn new systems and applications.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide employees while fostering a collaborative, diverse and inclusive work environment
  • An understanding of and complete commitment to confidentiality
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to contribute to a cohesive team environment demonstrated in sharing information, supporting team priorities and ensuring open communication.
  • Certificate IV in Human Resource Management and/ or relevant experience.
  • Manual Vehicle Licence
