The Team
We are a tight knit and highly collegiate P&C team comprising 10 people who provide HR support to the firm nationally. We work in a fast paced environment and the team are well respected for their responsive, helpful and caring approach, and for delivering strategic advice and projects to the business.
The Role
We’re seeking someone to join the Brisbane team on a 6 to 9 month contract to cover a period of parental leave. This role will have a strong recruitment focus, however there is the potential to also be involved in generalist HR work if this is of interest.
The recruitment aspect of the role will require you to successfully manage the end-to-end recruitment process for a portfolio of roles across lawyers, administrative staff and business services including:
- partnering with hiring managers to ascertain the requirements for each role;
- sourcing candidates through advertising and recruitment agencies as well as more proactive measures leveraging online tools and platforms; and
- conducting interviews utilising behavioural and competency based interviewing techniques.
If you want to specialise solely in recruitment, this can be accommodated however if you’re keen to also get involved in other areas of HR, then there are a range of things we would be happy for you to assist with including:
- onboarding and inducting new staff;
- vacation clerk & graduate programs;
- general people management including performance reviews;
- participation in projects and committees such as health & wellbeing, D&I and leadership development; and
- compliance areas such as workplace health and safety.
About You
This role will suit a candidate with the following:
- 3+ years’ recruitment experience in a legal or professional services environment;
- proven ability to communicate effectively and confidentially;
- strong problem solving skills; and
- enthusiastic and proactive approach to work.
In particular, the role may appeal to someone currently working in a recruitment agency environment who is keen to gain experience working in-house, including gaining some generalist HR experience.
