Position Overview
Arkose Labs seeks a dynamic People Operations Associate to join our Global People & Talent team. Reporting to the Director of Global Human Resources, this unique hybrid role encompasses some facilities management but is primarily a role in People Operations and human resources, supporting our vibrant team in Brisbane, Australia. As the key liaison for our WeWork space in the City Center, you will be responsible for coordinating the membership management of our dedicated space. You will be crucial in managing employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring strict adherence to local employment laws, maintaining meticulous employee records, collaborating with the IT team for seamless equipment provisioning, and providing support throughout various stages of the employee lifecycle. Additionally, you will take charge of organizing regional events and contribute to upholding the company's core values.
Responsibilities
- Guide the seamless onboarding process for new hires, fostering a positive and welcoming experience. Collaborate with various teams to ensure that new employees have the requisite resources and information, providing assistance in completing necessary documentation.
- Maintain precise and confidential employee records, adhering to internal policies and local regulations.
- Stay abreast of local employment laws and regulations in Australia, ensuring strict adherence to legal requirements across all HR practices and processes.
- Oversee the complete employee lifecycle management for regional employees, prioritizing a positive employee experience at every stage.
- Support initiatives to enhance the overall employee experience, working collaboratively with the People Operations team to organize events, activities, and programs that cultivate a positive workplace culture and boost employee engagement.
- Conduct new hire orientation sessions to familiarize employees with company policies, culture, and expectations.
- Enforce HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance and foster employee engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate training, development initiatives, and succession planning.
- Work closely with the local payroll provider to ensure timely payroll processing and reporting.
- Initiate and manage people-first programs and initiatives to ensure an optimal employee experience.
- Serve as the key liaison with WeWork, addressing and resolving membership issues, and ensuring a smooth working relationship with our shared workspace provider.
Must-Have's
- 3+ years of experience in HR/People Operations, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Knowledge of Australian employment laws, HR policies, and best practices.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional, global team environment.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Experience in onboarding, orientation, and employee lifecycle
- Employee engagement, training, development, and change management (with a strong focus on Culture)
- Must be based in Brisbane, Australia, and should be prepared to work from the office as needed to foster a collaborative and engaging work environment.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in HRIS; experience with HR software is advantageous.
- Event management experience, both virtual and in-person
- Experience with general office management (e.g., replenishing office supplies, record maintenance, processing invoices/managing office budgets, designing/implementing/maintaining office procedures, etc.)
- Experience with online Security Compliance
- Knowledge of programs including but not limited to: MS Suite, Xero, Confluence, G-Suite
