About the Role
Cairns Private Hospital has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse to lead our Perioperative Services team on a permanent full-time basis.
This position is a key leadership and management role responsible for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources with our 8 Theatre complex. Cairns Private Hospital has an extensive range of surgical services including orthopaedic, vascular, urological, gynaecological, obstetrics and general services.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, this role will see you working with and supporting other managers in achieving excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will be a leader with a passion for seeing your team members succeed and grow with a focus on education, training and skill based learning. You hold exceptional communication skills and have the ability to inspire, motivate and mentor your team.
You will also demonstrate the following:
- Relevant registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in an acute hospital environment essential
- Demonstrate experience in a leadership or management role
- Experience and knowledge with theatre, anaesthetics and recovery requirements
- Proven ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and material resources
- Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate continuous improvement program
- Ability to apply research findings to clinical practice
Highly desirable:
- Post graduate studies in nursing leadership
- Sound computer skills in MS Office suite including Excel
Remuneration
A base hourly rate ranging from $65.84 - $71.24 + superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties and allowances (QLD NUM/MUM Yr1-4).
