SalaryAbout Me Hello! I am a 60-year-old Aboriginal male with Acquired Brain Injury, Dementia and Kidney Disease. I am looking for friendly Support Workers to assist me in achieving my NDIS goals. I enjoy watching TV, especially the Morning Show, Home & Away and Bold & the Beautiful. I also like to visit family and the family grave, shopping and seeing my grandchildren.
The RoleAn Opportunity is available to join my team of wonderful Support Workers who help to facilitate my daily life. My Support Workers assist me on a 2 to 1 basis throughout the day.
Due to some of the challenges I face, I can become agitated. In this instance I would like you to clearly communicate with me about my feelings and give me space when I need it.
I am seeking a Support Worker who is wanting to join a team environment, passionate about family and enjoy seeing them.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist me with ADL's
- Personal care
- Manual Handling
- In home activities such as cooking and arts
- Support me to achieve my goals to reach my potential in all facets of my life.
- Support my life skill development through proper implementation of established plans and programs to support the achievement of goal outcomes for me.
- Actively engage in Person Centred active support.
- Maintain accurate records.
Shifts I am looking for someone to support me on a Casual basis with the potential to join the team Part Time in the future.
The ideal candidate will have:
- NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability related check
- Current Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care) or other relevant qualification
- Dysphagia
- Manual Handling Level 3
About you: I am looking for a patient person to join my team. A good match for me would be someone who has an efficient and confident approach in what they do and possesses a calm and patient nature. Someone who can effectively and clearly communicate would be a good fit, as I have a speech impairment and have hearing difficulties.
Other requirements:
- Experience in working with people who have experience with high behaviours of concern's
- Ability to implement individualised developmental programs.
- Experience implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
- Flexible working hours
- Experience in various models of support preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in service delivery.
