Support /House Manager
- Monday to Thursday
- 16 hours a week, 4 hours per day at $50 per hour Plus, Superannuation
- Hours 10.30 to 12.30 as One on One Person Support
- Hours 12.30 to 2.30 as House Manager to single person
- Wellington Street Perth CBD Location Close to Public Transport
- Public Transport costs will be covered, NOTE There is no parking on site
Are you looking to make a difference in someone’s life, would like to just have one client to assist with life? We are looking for a kind and caring Support person to provide services to a mature active Down Syndrome gentleman, named David, to help him live independently in his apartment in central Perth. This role will include providing direct care along with all activities relating to managing and maintaining his home.
Your ability to build a positive connection with someone living with a disability is an absolute must. You will have previous experience in providing direct support including personal care and be comfortable with completing all household activities listed below and be flexible to complete other related activities as directed.
Responsibilities for One-on-One Support (not limited to):
- Personal care including support with showering, toileting, and shaving to one person, David
- Assist with preparation of breakfast/brunch for David
- Identify, monitor and report any Health & Wellbeing issues
- Look for ways to improve life for David in a person-centred environment
Responsibilities House Manager (not limited to):
- Must enjoy cleaning and having a “sense of order” in the home
- Note - multi level home with sets of stairs
- Small weekly food shop and household supplies and shopping for these items
- Identify any other large purchases required for the home, once approved, purchase these items.
- Washing of laundry & ironing of cloths for one person
- Report concerns in the home using a safety checklist and take action to rectify area that may be of risk.
- Work with David’s Administration Manager as well as Foundation Housing for any repairs when required to David’s home.
- Communicate with Dave's Health & Well Being Manager on a regular basis. The Health & Well Being Manager is in attendance once a week on a Friday.
- Attend a meeting once a month during your working hours with appointed Administration Manager, Health & Wellbeing Manager and family to ensure a smooth cross over of activities and lifestyle for David.

- Strong work ethic, including the ability to work independently.
- NDIS worker screening check.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
