What you’ll do

Elevate your clinical, leadership and relationship management skills in this exciting management opportunity! As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will lead our dispensary pharmacy team and work closely with doctors/nurse unit managers to provide centralised patient care. Warners Bay Private is one of the top hospitals in the Newcastle region, offering patients a range of comprehensive specialist services including: medical, surgical, rehabilitation and a mental health ward. Please note: This leadership position is on 12-month fixed term contract with potential to become permanent (performance based)

• Oversee & drive a range of specialist pharmacy services across both the ward and clinical dispensary, catering to the needs of our valued patients.
• Mentor and develop the skills of our team, guiding them through onboarding and induction processes for new team members.
• Work closely with the hospital team to educate staff and counsel patients on medication usage.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent with current Pharmacist Registration with AHPRA
• Strong leadership & communication skills, capable of managing and leading a team in accordance with legislative and medication safety guidelines.
• High level of computer literacy including systems knowledge of dispensing software
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is highly regarded but not essential

It is a mandatory requirement that you provide:

• Up to date COVID-19 vaccinations using vaccines approved by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation
• Proof of immunisation against infectious diseases
• A national police check conducted within the last 12 months
