The Role
They are seeking a full time Pharmacist to join their team. This is for a full time position at an annual salary at $90,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
- Preparing and checking medication prescribed to the patients
- Identifying potential interactions between drugs and providing information to the patient
- Ordering stock and ensuring that it is kept in appropriate conditions
- Dispensing medications accurately according to prescriptions or doctor's orders.
- Providing information and advice to patients on the appropriate use of medications, including dosage, side effects, and interactions
- Checking prescriptions for errors and ensuring the correct medication is dispensed
- Compounding medications when necessary, especially for customized or specialised prescriptions
- Monitoring patient health and progress to ensure medications are effective and safe
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to optimize patient care
- Conducting medication reviews to identify potential issues such as drug interactions or adverse effects
- Educating patients on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence
- Managing pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining proper storage conditions for medications
- Providing immunizations and other clinical services such as health screenings or medication therapy management
- Counselling patients on over-the-counter medications and recommending appropriate products
- Working with the pharmaceutical staff to maintain a clean, customer-friendly workplace
The requirements
- Bachelor degree qualifications in Pharmacy
- AHPRA registration
- At least 3 years' experience in fulfilling similar responsibility in a commercial pharmacy setting
- Attention to detail and precision in record keeping
- Demonstrated experience working in fast paced environment
- The ability to prioritise workload and adapting to change in work requirements
- Good interpersonal skills
