About your opportunity

The Senior Pharmacist (PPMS and Neurophysio) will provide specialist clinical pharmacy services within the Health Service's Persistent Pain Management Service, using evidence-based, quality and multi-disciplinary health care models. They will exercise independent professional judgement in reviewing medication therapies, providing expert advice on managing pain to achieve identifiable quality of life improvements.

  • Apply high level clinical knowledge and skills to optimise pharmacological interventions, through participation in clinical pharmacy activities and case conferencing with multidisciplinary care providers, patients and families with minimal clinical supervision. This will include providing advice and participation at the Health Service and Statewide level.
  • Gather, critically assess and advocate evidence based clinical information to solve complex issues specific to persistent pain, such as patient compliance, minimisation of side effects, patient and staff education, health and medication literacy, legal and ethical issues relating to long term use of medications.
  • Develop, update and modify HHS policies and procedures covering pharmaceutical care of the persistent pain patient, by providing clinical expertise and communicating empirical pharmaceutical issues on behalf of other disciplines within the patient care team.

Role Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from a recognised tertiary institution (or equivalent).
  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.

Generous remuneration package value up to $106,942 p.a. comprising and a salary range of $62.75 to $67.53 p.h. (HP4)
