What you'll be doing
The physiotherapist will act as a resource and clinical consultant for statewide clinicians involved in the care of children and young people with Complex Pain.
As an expert clinician the physiotherapist will contribute towards and lead multidisciplinary and discipline specific education, and quality improvement or research activities.
The physiotherapist will contribute at an advanced level to:
- Planning, development and evaluation of physiotherapy services and models of care both within the physiotherapy department and Complex Pain service
- Development, implementation and evaluation of resources, policies, procedures and practice guidelines relevant to Complex Pain
- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy and current AHPRA registration
- Extensive post graduate experience in paediatric physiotherapy, with demonstrated competence and experience working with children and adolescents with Complex Pain.
- Demonstrated advanced level of clinical reasoning and skills in evidence-based holistic pain assessment, measurement and physiotherapy management including non-pharmacological methods
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cohesively as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with an ability to work flexibly within clinical and administrative service demands.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in clinical supervision, education provision, service planning and leading and evaluating quality improvement activities and research
