Physiotherapist - Senior (Cardiothoracic)

Provide clinical expertise, leadership and promote education in the area of Acute Physiotherapy Services for the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service to patients, community, staff and students in accordance with district goals and in consultation with the Director of Physiotherapy.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Physiotherapist – Senior (Cardiothoracic) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Deliver advanced clinical and advisory services within single and multi disciplinary teams through extensive experience, advanced clinical reasoning, problem solving and treatment skills
• Apply advanced professional judgement to complex clinical problems utilising evidence based practices
• Assist the facility based Clinical Educator in providing student placement opportunities and clinical education
• Provide a high level of clinical expertise, and be a resource person who contributes to the professional development of Nursing, Medical and Allied Health staff
• Demonstrate high level of commitment to actively pursuing advanced levels of professional development opportunities within Acute Inpatient Physiotherapy. 

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• The possession of a tertiary degree in Physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution
• AHPRA Registration
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time
• Base salary ranging from $124 435 - $133 901 per annum

The Physiotherapy Department works across the Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital, and Robina Health Precinct, employing upwards of 100 Full Time equivalent Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Assistants within Inpatient, Outpatient and Community services.
