  • Multiple Planning Officer roles available and creation of a talent pool for future opportunities in DPE
  • Temporary full-time opportunities until 30 June 2024 with possibility of extension
  • Flexible and remote NSW working arrangements available for some roles   
  • Salary ranges from $101,427 to $114,291 + super

NSW Planning is seeking diverse and talented Planning Officers to help with stakeholder engagement, development assessments, and delivery across a series of new, ambitious projects.

  • Are you an effective communicator, who has experience in development assessment and working with a range of stakeholders?
  • Are you a creative and collaborative problem-solver?
  • Are you customer-service focused?
  • Are you a critical thinker, with experience in making research-backed recommendations and supporting decision making?
  • Are you experienced in project delivery, progress reviews and proactive in adjusting plans when needed?  

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant planning and environmental legislation and processes.
  • While a tertiary degree in environmental science, environmental management, or planning is preferred, we welcome applicants with qualifications from planning aligned industries such as engineering, architecture, urban design or other equivalent qualifications.
