You’ll be working on a range of enquiries and applications, covering rural and urban, industrial and residential, large and small – there’s a lot of variety.You’ll play a role in helping shape the future of our region while also gaining valuable work experience that will help you with your studies. Our Planning Branch strives for continual improvement and offers a supportive team environment where you can learn, thrive and be mentored. Some of your key responsibilities (under the guidance of a Senior Planner) will include:
- Undertake research for development enquiries, general planning advice and other planning matters (for internal and external stakeholders);
- Review zone and built form requirements;
- Prepare preliminary assessments on a range of straight-forward development applications; and
- Perform a range of other town planning functions, such as analysing submissions or preparing responses to enquiries.
- Part-time role, up to 27 hours per week with flexibility to suit your university or life schedule.
- A pay rate of between $33.44 and $36.22 per hour (depending on experience) plus superannuation of up to 12.65%.

- Be enrolled in a Town Planning, Urban Design or property-related course OR have at least one years’ working experience in a development or property-related field; and
- Have an interest in town planning, property and / or urban design; and
- Be able to prioritise your own workload; and
- Able to communicate effectively with a variety of people; and
- Have excellent customer services skills; and
- Have demonstrated computer literacy skills; and
