The Planning Engineer, Victorian Transmission Plan position will contribute to the development and implementation of planning criteria to reform the Victorian transmission system and Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) development. This position will support the planning and implementation of the Victorian Transmission Plan, providing technical inputs, analysis, and advice to internal and external stakeholders.
The Planning Engineer Victorian Transmission Plan will assist in the development of REZ and transmission capacity outlooks, Multi-Criteria Analysis, Cost Benefit Analysis, and options assessment methodology over a long-term planning horizon.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, etc), Mathematics, Econometrics, Economics, Science, or other relevant quantitative fields is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience or knowledge in renewable energy project development, electricity demand forecasting, energy at risk and cost-benefit modelling, TAPR/DAPR, RIT-T, TCPR, etc will be desirable.
- Demonstrated experience or knowledge running quantitative and analytical strategies, to deliver determinations around complex energy models & power systems would be desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Electricity Transmission System operation, planning and economics is desirable.
