Band 5 Salary from $69,531 – $79,372 per annum, plus superannuation
The role
Reporting to the Manager, Statutory Planning, this role forms a key part of the Statutory Planning Team. The Planning Support Officer (PSO) provides high-level administrative support to Planning Officers and is responsible for a range of tasks. This includes the receipting and filing of a variety of technical correspondence, the advertising of planning permit applications and the processing of third party submissions.
The Statutory Planning team is currently moving through a period of change with the re-imagining of IT systems and the introduction of new elements to the planning assessment framework. Now more than ever, the support of PSOs is required as the team continues to work through a back log of applications.
About you:
The Statutory Planning team is seeking an experienced technical officer who is motivated and able to work effectively in a high-paced and sometimes pressurised environment. Ideally, the preferred candidate will have a good working knowledge of Pathway, CM and Intramaps.
Key Selection Criteria:
Minimum of VCE or equivalent
Possession of excellent word processing skills and working knowledge of relevant software packages
Possession of excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
Demonstrated experience in a customer service and office administration role including financial (orders) management.
Excellent interpersonal skills consistent with the position description requirements.
Ability to quickly adapt to new situations, show initiative and positively respond to challenges and strive for continuous improvement in service provision.
Experience in a planning administration role.
Good working knowledge of systems and processes applicable to an office environment designed to improve efficiencies and service delivery.
