About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and proactive manufacturing professional who is looking for a new challenge within a growing and progressive company. We are seeking a Plant Managerfor our Herons Creek Site which comprises both a Saw mill and Dry Mill to make up the largest site in the Pentarch group.
You will be responsible for the co-ordination and performance of the day-to-day operations and production at our Herons Creek site in order to ensure high standards of efficiency and quality in our production in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position which will be accountable for managing the performance and development employees.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ensuring that both our Sawmill and Drymill hit production and recovery targets.
- Demonstrating strong leadership and applying effective engagement and communication strategies as Plant Manager.
- Addressing customer considerations operationally to meet quality and delivery requirements.
- Driving a strong culture of safety across all departments on site by allocating resources, facilities and equipment to ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
- Monitor controls and ensure that actions are put in place to eliminate or reduce the likelihood of identified risks.
- Ensure training across all site positions is maintained to ensure good coverage of all positions.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in working in a similar industry (hardwood milling, softwood milling or manufacturing).
- A tertiary education in an engineering or science degree is desirable.
- A demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships and to effectively lead and influence team members is essential.
- The ability to prioritise safety and promote a culture of safety amongst employees.
- Personal drive and focus on results and the continuous improvement of process.
