Plant Manager

Multi-Color Corporation manufactures labels for some of the biggest FMCG brand names found on supermarket shelves, bars, restaurants and hotels globally.  We also produce premium-quality labels for high-profile brands in the pharmaceutical, durables and home & personal care sectors. Given the fact our labels are applied to wine, spirits, beverage & soft drinks bottles, food packaging, bathroom products, medicine containers, white goods and automotive products, it is likely that you will put your hands on our labels on a daily basis. It is our labels that identify, promote and help sell our customer’s products!  With 109 manufacturing sites, and 12,000+ employees, we are the Global #1 for prime labels.

We are looking for a highly energetic, experienced Plant Manager to join our dynamic team at MCC Sydney, where you'll lead the charge in fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence. 

You'll oversee all aspects of site operations, driving performance to align with business strategies and objectives. Your expertise in lean management will be crucial as you implement the MCC lean framework and lead continuous improvement initiatives. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and cost efficiency, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance overall performance.

In this exciting and varied role, you will: 

• Direct, drive and champion, a zero-incident safety culture, ensuring that all employees have a safe work environment and engage in safe working habits, complying with regulatory requirements and MCC polices and behaviours. 
• Responsibility for overall site operations, driving MCC policy to deliver business strategy and plant objectives by setting production performance standards and aligning the organisation, to achieve those standards.
• Deploy MCC’s lean framework to the Plant, including supporting the Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) system, and all its components. 
• Provide adaptive leadership and be a role model for MCC values and MDI discipline.
• Develop a diverse high performing operational team, capable of achieving business improvement objectives and fostering a positive culture of accountability, action and continuous improvement, where safety is paramount.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, reduce costs, enhance margin, and deliver overall performance improvement.
• Rigorous focus on improving Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery (SQCD) performance metrics, and sharing best practice across the organisation.
• Develop and implement cost saving initiatives to improve operational performance within the plant.

• Experience in Operations/Lean Management, preferably with a printing focus, and with Cost Centre / P&L responsibility at the plant level, necessary.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and data driven decision making.
• Experience in leading change.
• Proven success designing, implementing, communicating, and meeting KPI goals, including reducing supply chain costs, improving through-put, shortening cycle time, and improving inventory turns.
