River Sands is a diversified manufacturer operating a Sand Quarry, an automated Dry Packaged Mortar factory and a speciality sand and soil blending facility.
Based at Carbrook, our operations are split over three adjoining sites and include sand dredging, screening, washing, drying and the filling of 20kg and bulk bags.
The Role
We are seeking a mechanically minded Leading Hand to be involved in each of our multiple manufacturing processes. You will be operating as a specialist and a relief operator across a range of equipment over the three sites. Previous experience in operating earth moving equipment or processing equipment is essential and will provide you with a good background for success. Training will be provided in operating each item of equipment. The key equipment that you would be operating includes:
- Loader Operation with Ipad control
- Mobile Screening Plants
- Sand Pumping Dredge
- Sand Classifier Plant
- Automated packing lines
Reporting to the Sand Plant Manager, your duties include:
- Set up and management of Mobile Screening Equipment
- Stockpiling and loader blending of soils.
- Operating a soil mixer and packing equipment
- Relief operator for controlling the dredge.
- Operating automatic packing lines
- Basic maintenance activities
- Providing input to scheduling repairs and maintenance
About You
The role will appeal to an energetic and mechanically minded operator who seeks variety in their work. Ideally you are practiced in using your initiative to identify improvement opportunities in the operation. Training in the use of the equipment will be provided.
