PLT Placement

Luminous Legal is looking for a volunteer PLT student to work in our busy firm located in Ashfield (within walking distance from Ashfield Station). The right candidate may be considered for a full-time paid position once admitted as solicitor subject to their performance.

The role will variably involve working in the following areas of law:

• Commercial Law;

• Family Law;

• Property Law; and

• Criminal Law.

Your duties will mainly be to assist and support our solicitors. Your duties will therefore include legal research, drafting draft legal documents and correspondence, filing court documents, file management and general administrative duties as required. This is an opportunity for the PLT student to develop core legal and professional skills. You will also have access to our solicitors who can provide you with mentoring and advice with how to succeed in the legal profession.

The successful candidate should possess the following skills:—

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Strong legal research and analytical skills;

• Keen attention to detail;

• Good organisation skills;

• Good time management skills; and

• A willingness to learn.
