Policy Advisor

2 - 3 years experience in Policy Advisor with Policy Writing type role in Commercial / Government

Our client is looking for someone who is able to monitor government policy to provide advice on the issues that impact others, able to develop policy positions and submissions on a range of topics, attend meetings to support the cause, prepare communication and meeting briefs for ministerial, department or stakeholder meetings, attend client board meetings to design policy and advocacy strategies and report on any wins. 

Skills required:

• Early to mid experience in policy and research officer type roles
• Able to work from home remotely with a strong self-discipline to get the work done
• Ability to travel to meetings as required
• 2–4 years writing and analysing experience in government policy or peak body policy roles
• Have an understanding of the cycles of various policies (govt / commercial) and how to influence these
• Experience in researching, analysing, interpreting and designing approaches for policy action
• Experience in policy report writing
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with all internal and external stakeholders
• Able to build effective relationships
• Flexible and positive attitude
