Provide support and information co-ordination to the Policy and Compliance Law Unit
Base salary $104,633 - $113,992 plus 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Policy and Compliance Information Officer supports information management in the Policy and Compliance Law team in the Office of General Counsel. The role works with the Director, Policy and Compliance Law, Policy Manager, and Compliance Manager and their teams to support the development and implementation of multiple workstreams within projects. They also balance this work with business as-usual information management for the Policy and Compliance Law team.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of legal practice requirements and their intersection with Policy and Compliance management and will demonstrate an understanding of Policy and Compliance frameworks, while being skilled in a wide range of relevant software applications. In this role you will source and synthesise information to develop and deliver reports on project milestones, progress on key strategic priorities, and the operation of the Policy and Compliance frameworks. Your key responsibilities will be to:
maintain, and support the development of information registers and repositories including electronic document storage, management and retrieval
assist with coordinating multiple projects and partner with team members to support work streams and project implementation
contribute to the development of a new Policy Register including liaising with the Legal Operations team within the Office of General Counsel
monitor and track legislative developments relevant to the University's compliance framework and liaise with interns and lawyers to ensure that compliance obligation statements within the Legislative Compliance Register are up to date.
About you
tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience within a multi-faceted organisation
demonstrated organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in project/program coordination
proven capability in developing communications and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
experience in higher education, or an understanding of compliance frameworks, with skills in creating and using the records and systems needed to support and implement them
excellent interpersonal skills with a strong client focus, and the ability to develop and foster collegial relationships across the University.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
