You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a highly-motivated and close-knit team, regularly working with varied subject matter experts to deliver Executive advice on a broad range of public and population health priorities.The Policy Officer will work in a team to support the Chief Health Officer and Deputy Secretary of Population and Public Health with a range of priority activities. This will include development of advice such as briefs and correspondence, day-to-day project management, co-ordinating webinars with key Ministry stakeholders, secretariat support for NSW Health representation at local and national committees, and working with various subject matter experts to respond to emerging issues.Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $106,025 - $117,363 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.For more information, please read theWhat you'll be doing

• Preparing written advice such as briefs, correspondence, submissions, policy documents, reports and discussion papers
• Assisting in the development, monitoring and reporting of strategic, operational and project plans
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and synthesising evidence and research to support informed decision-making and planning

About you

• This role will suit a motivated individual who is equally comfortable taking initiative and proactively managing their own workload, as they are collaborating and communicating with partners across the organisation.
• Being able to carry out competing projects within tight timeframes, and communicating effectively to manage priorities within the close-knit team is essential for this position.
• Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the provision of high-level quality advice within the health system.
• Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the machinery of Government and NSW Health.
• Candidates must hold relevant tertiary qualifications and /or have demonstrated relevant, equivalent professional experience.
