Job description:

Location - Sydney CBD with access to hybrid work arrangements

Temporary full-time opportunity (up to April 2025 with the possibility of extension)

Salary ranging from $139,787 to $161,663pa. Plus, employer contribution to superannuation (11%) and annual leave loading (17.5%)

Your role

Contribute to the delivery of complex projects within a broad ranging jurisdiction, and lead a small team that provides policy and executive services to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT)

What you'll do

You'll lead a policy team that provides strategic advice, prepares correspondence such as ministerial communications and briefing notes in response to Government requests, and contribute to the delivery of complex and sensitive projects that are of strategic or operational significance.

Work closely with the Tribunal's Executive Team to develop and implement of a range of policy initiatives.

Represent NCAT in meetings that involve key internal and external stakeholders, performing a strong advisory function both within and outside the organisation.

You will also provide high-level policy, planning and operational support to the Executive Director and NCAT executive team.

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

Knowledge of legislation relevant to Justice Portfolio, Government functions and the legislative process.

Experience in leading research and analysis of emerging trends and developing evidence-based strategies for issue resolution.

Proven track record of identifying and investigating urgent and emerging contentious issues.
