The CCQ received temporary funding for two years under DJAG Recommendations 100 and 101 in response to the Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce Report Hear Her voice: Report 1, Addressing coercive control and domestic and family violence in Queensland with additional resources intended to: enhance the domestic and family violence death review process in Queensland, including a specialised Coroner and additional operational staff and legal counsel, maintain and enhance Queensland's domestic and family violence homicide and suicide sets and enable the design and establishment of an Implementation Monitoring Framework for the Domestic and Family Violence Death Advisory Board (DFVDRAB) and coronial recommendations.The Policy Officer, DFVDRU is required to provide support to coroners and the DFVDRAB as part of their investigation of complex Domestic and Family Violence related deaths under the Coroners Act 2003.
This includes assisting with the collation and analysis of research, maintenance and monitoring of Homicide and Suicide databases, development of policy and procedures relating to the DFVDRAB and providing general policy advice in relation to the Board.The role reports to the Manager DFVDRU (AO8).Applicants are advised that the work of the Coroners Court of Queensland will expose employees to disturbing material including offending behaviours, criminal activity and other explicit, distressing or offensive content.Employees may be required to engage with persons who have and may continue to experience distressing circumstances and/or are involved with the coronial system.Applicants should consider the above and their personal resilience and coping strategies to sustain working in confronting and challenging circumstances.Applications to remain current for 12 months.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
