About the Role
Contribute to the development and delivery of GrainGrowers' strategic policy and advocacy initiatives. You will support the development and delivery of GrainGrowers’ sustainability and Natural Resource Management (NRM) policy that is likely to affect the Australian grains industry. You will monitor and analyse relevant research, and prepare reports, briefing papers and submissions.
About You
This candidate has worked in a policy-related role within sustainability or agriculture, with a keen interest in agricultural sustainability issues. You must excel in written communication and engaging stakeholders. You will be proactive and detail-oriented, take and have strong analytical skills for policy analysis and research.
Experience or an interest in agriculture or sustainability is essential.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Identify and monitor sustainability and NRM policy issues.
- Support the development and delivery of sustainability and NRM policy.
- Stay updated on grains industry issues and offer advice and strategies to address them.
- Research and analyse key issues relating to sustainability and NRM policy eg. develop papers, briefings & reports.
- Provide submissions to Government on sustainability and NRM policy.
- Utilise GrainGrowers policy development framework to draft innovative policy solutions.
- Understand key concepts and communicate clearly to key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in the agriculture or sustainability industry.
- Experience in a policy-related role.
- Tertiary qualification in agriculture, business, or public policy.
- Research, analysis, critical thinking, and reporting skills.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong work ethic and takes initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and administrative tasks.
