PR Advisor

Our client is an established association and professional body, rooted in Victoria's history within the Building and Construction Industry. They are now seeking an experienced Public Relations Advisor to join their media and communications team in East Melbourne (3002).

As the PR advisor you will be an essential part of the communications team. Key responsibilities involve developing and managing their media strategy, media messaging, and key relationships with media and external stakeholders.

In this role you report directly into the CEO and C-suite, briefing them on emerging media that could provide opportunities or potential harm to the company. You monitor all media channels, create and advise on communications, and are the key media contact for the business.   

About the role:

• Full-time permanent position
• Salary: $100,000 + super
• Monday to Friday, regular business hours - with flexibility to attend important events outside hours
• East Melbourne Office, close to CBD (3002)

What we're looking for:

• Relevant experience as a PR advisor, Public Relations Manager, Media Manager (or similar) in a results-driven industry
• Tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Media, Communications, Journalism or similar relevant field OR equivalent experience
• Exposure to the building/construction industry is highly regarded but not essential - Training will be provided
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to present confidently with credibility, impact and influence
• Knowledge of the broader media landscape and understanding of media management and development
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
