The Role
We are seeking a Compliance and Governance Manager to join our team and support our national business operations. Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director, the key responsibility of this role is to ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) regulations and policies. The role involves developing and implementing strategies through Airmaster's integrated management systems to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for employees, visitors, contractors, and the public.
- Lead, manage and develop the Compliance and Safety team to ensure a highly skilled, flexible and responsive team culture and to deliver business priorities and commitments within agreed timeframes, quality standards and budgets.
- Lead the ISO Management & Auditing requirements of the business to ensure ISO accreditation is maintained across Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment.
- Provide expert, specialist advice on Compliance and safety policy and legislation to support best practice.
- Develop internal controls and policies designed to ensure that all compliance needs are met.
- Manage safety and Governance to achieve optimum results in workplace safety.
- Working closely with Daikin Industries and Daikin Australia auditing team to ensure Airmaster meets all internal auditing requirements and recommendations.
- Provide timely, professional, strategic, and comprehensive advice to senior management on workplace safety, sustainability, and Governance data and trends.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities in the safety environment.
- Consider and recommend improvements in procedures and processes that are consistent with legislation, regulation and policy that improve service delivery in line with industry best practice.
Key Competencies
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, leading risk and compliance activities
- Excellent attention to detail, comprehension skills and ability to understand regulatory guides.
- Capability to raise awareness and drive change.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
- Certificate in Work & Health and Safety desirable
- Experience and knowledge in Health Safety, Environmental, & Quality systems desirable
- Certification in internal audit or similar
- Working knowledge of relevant WHS & environmental Legislations and regulations
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, SharePoint) and company systems
- Sound understanding of fundamental philosophy driving all management systems.
- Ability to travel to all branches in Airmaster network across Australia and New Zealand
