The Opportunity

The Communications and PR Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of public relations and communication advice, strategy and execution for G8 Education. This role will proactively manage internal and external projects, community partnerships and ongoing communications activities, whilst overseeing integrated project and event management. Reporting directly to the Communications Manager, this role will be supported by a team of like-minded and collaborative professionals..
Your day-to-day

- Develop and implement G8’s communications strategy and build, maintain and service our national brand reputation across various audiences and channels.
- Deliver timely and proactive strategic advice to our CEO, and wider Executive Team and build integral partnerships to advise on communication matters.
- Identify and optimise opportunities to protect and enhance G8 Education’s reputation.
- Ensure quality of all G8 Education’s public relations and communication materials
- Provide communication support to manage issues or incidents with integrity and in a way which maintains trust in the organisation
- Collaboratively oversee the communications calendar to ensure communications are timed for greatest impact, reflect business priorities and our communications framework.
- Develop and implement a social media content plan for G8 Education’s corporate social media channels
- Develop and implement communications plans to promote community partnership initiatives internally and externally
- Coordinate G8 Education’s corporate presence at sector conferences and provide communications support
About You
You thrive in a fast-paced and engaging work environment, valuing strong partnerships, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence. As someone who takes ownership of outcomes, you embrace the complexity and challenges that come with this role, while maintaining an agile and result-driven mindset. To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experiences:
- 3+ years’ experience in a PR and Communications role ideally within a large-scale organisation.
- Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills for internal and external audiences, including outstanding copywriting, proofreading and the ability to provide direction on design and production
- Proven record in developing and delivering integrated communications programs across internal and external audiences
- Experience in managing complex issues and crises
- Strong interpersonal leadership skills and project management
- Experience or ability to quickly embrace various communications platforms and technologies, including internal and external channels
- Flexibility to undertake domestic travel and out of business hours communications is required
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid working with children check
