The Role:
As a PR Manager at MKTG, you will play a pivotal role in the growth of our new Sports PR offering. Your responsibilities will span drafting press releases, managing media relations, engaging with clients (brands, teams, leagues, athletes), and supporting new business initiatives. Additionally, you will work closely with our ambassador marketing consultant to manage athlete brand endorsements across Australia.

You are an enthusiastic and proactive professional with 3-4 years of experience in PR, communications, and/or marketing. You are a self-starter who thrives independently yet values collaboration and continuous learning. You will report to our GM, who has global PR experience and has worked with some of the world's most famous athletes, brands, teams and leagues and loves to mentor those around her. Key Responsibilities:
Public Relations
Craft and distribute captivating press releases and email pitches.
Conduct outreach to various media channels, including TV, print, online, radio, and bloggers.
Generate detailed clip reports to showcase campaign results for clients.
Media Relations
Build and nurture relationships with journalists.
Identify and leverage media opportunities for clients across industry and non-endemic outlets.
Monitor news trends and share relevant updates with the team.
Develop and maintain comprehensive media lists, clip reports, and campaign recaps.
Client Engagement
Organise and manage client meetings, preparing WIP documents and other essential materials.
Assist in developing Q&A content, interview briefs, and executive prep for speaking engagements.
Create key messaging for campaigns and related materials.
Collaborate with the team on proactive and reactive new business pitches.
Support the execution of athlete ambassador agreements, including event coordination, media day management, commercial shoot production, and liaising with agents and managers.
Ambassador Marketing
Assist in the management of athlete endorsements with brands.
Coordinate event logistics and provide on-site support for ambassador-related activities.
Facilitate media days and manage schedules for athlete appearances.
Handle communications and meetings with agents and managers.
Aid in the production and planning of commercial shoots featuring athlete ambassadors.
Have an understanding of content capture for social media.
What You'll Bring:
An outstanding attitude and exceptional communication skills
Superior writing skills for formal external communications and executive interactions
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Experience in sports, consumer PR, brand management, and working with athletes is highly desirable.
Proficiency in creative tools and basic video editing is a plus.
Strong problem-solving abilities and time management skills
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and Google Docs and Sheets
