About the Role

The core mission of the Practice Director for the Data & Insights practice is to accelerate net new growth and to support the General Manager with building the practice. This role operates across all the Versent business geographies,focusing on delivering, advisory and sales with Growth teams and other practices.

The Director is accountable for working directly with the customer to develop the solution and commercial outcome for the client engagements.

Ownership includes areas such as:

  • Sales leadership for new and existing customers

  • People leadership within the Data & Insights practice

  • Alliance development with key partners like AWS, Microsoft, Google, Databricks and Snowflake

  • Practice leadership with partial P&L ownership

A successful Director will have a passion and deep experience delivering data and analytic solutions for clients with 15+ years of consulting experience.  They will have a deep interest in all that is data and likely have certifications and experience with modern cloud solutions such as AWS, Microsoft and others.

Advisory & Business Requirements

  • In collaboration with the customer account teams, the Director is accountable for leading and building the customer outcomes in Proof of Value/Concept, YBR, customer demos or advisory engagements, ensuring customer satisfaction

  • Responsible for establishing and leading the standardisation and reuse of specific material for RFPs, Tenders, Statements of Work and client engagement deliverables

  • Accountable to ensure a managed handover from the sales process into the delivery process, ensuring the engagement scope and guidelines are understood by the delivery team

  • Leading, contributing and maintaining brand reputation and awareness; showcasing the technical reputation of Versent. This is measured through pipeline and positive relationships with partners

  • Maintain stakeholder relationship with key executive sponsors

Presales and Solution Leadership

  • Responsible for pre-sales, advisory and business development support for all new and existing customers in a region to Customer Partners and Senior Account Executives

  • Supporting the regional deal lead for strategic/large value Versent multi-year contracts

  • Acting as credible partner in the Sales process, working with the account team to lead in new customers and build customer confidence in technical ability of Versent

  • Ensuring clear ‘go-to-market’ models and assessments for large, complex deals

  • Working in partnership with the Customer Partner and Senior Account Executive to develop account strategies

  • Responsible for providing clients with clear direction and shaping on Versent solutions with support from Practice Leads and associated Principal Solution Architects

  • Scoping and understanding customer outcomes and articulating into commercial documents (Statements of Work, Request for Proposal, Bids and Tenders), measured through sales success rates. This includes leading and development of scope, deliverables, acceptance criteria, requirements, assumptions, dependencies and out of scope and proposed team roles in Statements of Work

  • Ability to influence the discussion with clients and demonstrate how business outcomes can be achieved with recommended solutions

  • Demonstrate market-leading thought leadership in the Versent professional service domains through business-led advisory
