Practice Leader IFP

About the role 

The PL provides proactive and preventative care support for the staff, leadership and strategic management to Family Services Australia (FSA). 

The position acts to ensure that FSA delivers consistently high quality and effective early intervention services to vulnerable families. Through FSAs Integrated Family Services Model of Care, the PL helps to support parents in their role as primary carers and builds the capacity of the community to value children. Thereby, achieving multi-disciplined continuity of care support and reduced referral pathways.

In a non-directive, supportive and personalised manner, working within approved Practice Frameworks and Standards of Care (Incl. those under Child Protection Act), as the PL you are accountable to aid the development and capacity of FSA staff including Family Support Workers across Intensive Family Preservation (IFP). 

Ensure high quality services and maintenance of young people’s rights, aiding the management of operational performance improvements, project and capacity development, external Government NGO and partner client relationships and associated operations in accordance with the Managing Director or their nominated delegate. 

The role operates with a high degree of autonomy with appropriate consultation with the SLT, Practice Leaders, Coordinators, Principal Therapeutic Practices, Operations Director and Managing Director, as required.

The role will be required to manage, analyse and make sound recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Managing Director. You will be required to work within the DCJ Program Level Agreement (PLA), Service Model and Program Guidelines and FSA Practice Governance Framework.

Essential Criteria – Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Value-Add

  • Lived values aligned to ours – Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment (CARE) with Integrity and Positivity;
  • Degree or Diploma (minimum) in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services and leadership training and or/ at least 5 years’ experience in the Community Services sector, preferable in leadership.
  • Excellent prioritisation, time and project management ability with a strong psychological resilience capacity and calmness when operating in dynamic care environments
  • Ability to coordinate and promote a multi-disciplined Trauma Informed Practice environment with high Standards of Care, Quality Assurance and Risk Management
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to aid capacity building in challenging operating environments
  • Capacity to build, develop and nurture positive service provider partnerships and productive working relationships with FSA staff, the SLG and ELT;
  • Ability to obtain Working with Children’s Check and National Police Check (NPC) clearances.
