As the Pedagogy & Practice Leader, you will work in partnership with colleagues, children, families and other professionals to share decision-making, engage in conversation and critical reflection about different theoretical and philosophical approaches to the pedagogy they adapt.
The aim is to develop people; create, innovate, and drive fidelity of organisational culture and practices to fulfill the organisations Vision, Purpose, and Strategy.
You will lead and oversee the implementation of high-quality early childhood education and care practices; and build the capacity of staff to deliver excellent inclusive educational programs for children, their learning,
development, and well-being in the Centres.
The centre
This organization is a for-purpose, Not for profit organisation with over 15 centres in Sydney. We’re here to promote and enhance children’s wellbeing, learning and development and we do that for children from birth to their transition to high school through early learning services, children’s therapies, and family support programs.
Duties also include
- Use implementation science methods and approaches to enable teams to attain and sustain exceeding and /or excellent ratings and standards in alignment with the National Quality Framework
• Ensure recommended strategies with leaders and teams are aligned with our Pathways Approach and Practices with children and young people
• Lead professional development opportunities and share knowledge of practices with children
• Provide high level advice on early childhood education for the development of our strategies
• Provide effective mentoring and coaching and lead critical reflection to improve leadership of teams and of educational programs
• Document and communicate knowledge, practice stories and outcomes of projects for our community
• Maintain professional knowledge, attend relevant conferences, and present where appropriate, network with other leaders, and seek appropriate speaking opportunities
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop connections with local Communities as part of our Pathways Approach
• Support the creation of a professional feedback culture and actively participate in ongoing learning and Reflection on Practice
• Perform any other duties as requested by your manager consistent with the position.
Essential
- University qualifications in Early Childhood Education, with significant experience working in the early childhood sector, building capacity of teachers and educators
• Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment and demonstrated ability to coach, facilitate and bridge connection in a variety of contexts
• Demonstrated skill in cultural competency
• Demonstrated ability to reflect on own practice
• Demonstrated ability to build the capacity of others and to drive change
• Highly developed, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills, with strong report writing skills
• Experience creating webinars and e- learning tools
• Current drivers’ licence and own comprehensively insured car
• A Working with Children’s Check (NSW) clearance number
