As Practice Manager, you will support the practice, providing strategic leadership, business operational excellence & financial oversight.

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Practice Principal, the Practice Manager will be responsible for supporting the whole practice wherever possible, within their scope of practice. You will lead the senior leadership team to provide business operational excellence, marketing and strategic planning, thoughtful leadership, financial oversight, personnel management and safety, quality and culture. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with practice staff to develop and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures;
  • Lead accreditation compliance and oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring cleanliness, accessibility and compliance with IT systems;
  • Cultivate relationships with GP’s, allied health professionals and stakeholders whilst remaining an active member of the team;
  • Maintain accurate financial records and generate regular reports for the practice owner/s;
  • Coordinate payroll services, manage superannuation payments and oversee compliance with the Australian Taxation Office;
  • Strategically expand the practice to enhance profitability and align with the evolving needs of our community;
  • Coordinate staff rosters, leave cover, shifts and organise locum cover when necessary;
  • Drive governance, social responsibility and professional development initiatives with regular staff training and meetings;
  • Facilitate the recruitment process by hiring and interviewing staff and promoting employee motivation;
  • Lead risk management and quality improvement processes, ensuring compliance with practice policies, procedures and code of conduct;
  • Maintain a duty of care, record incidents and prioritise patient and practice confidentiality;
  • Provide strategic leadership and support to practice staff in conjunction with the senior leadership team;
  • Foster a safe and productive work environment, oversee governance processes, and contribute to a values-driven culture consistent to the vision and mission.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Previous demonstrated experience in a management and/or high-level practice administrative position;
  • Experience in financial management, HR and payroll systems (e.g. Xero), and reporting processes to ensure the evolving needs of the practice are met;
  • An understanding of medical, general practice accreditation and the Medicare Benefits Schedule;
  • Outstanding leadership skills which shine through in your capacity to lead, motivate and inspire teams to achieve common goals;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams;
  • Training in CPR (or willingness to be trained);
  • Previous experience with practice software Best Practice;
  • Working knowledge of Windows based software systems (e.g. Word and Excel).
