About Dernancourt Medical Centre (DMC):

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and passionate Practice Manager to manage the GP, Nursing and support team at DMC. This role is responsible for smooth and efficient day to day operation of our GP practice, provides leadership to the reception and nursing team and ensures we maintain a high standard of patient care. As DMC continues to grow, the successful applicant will help shepherd DMC into its next significant stage of expansion. It creates an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Practice Manager who would like to grow his/her career working under the business director who is focusing on growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day running and operation of the GP and nursing clinic.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with relevant Government legislation and regulation that relates to General Practice.
- Provide direct support and administrative assistance to GPs and ensure the GP environs are maintained to a satisfactory level as determined by the Principal GP.
- Regular liaison with Principal GP and Business Director regarding clinical operations of the General Practice.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with GP Accreditation requirements, including overseeing GP accreditation process every 3 years.
- Involvement in reception and staff training, support and supervision as required.
- Overseeing the coordination of, GP and nursing staff rosters and leave coverage.
- Involvement in recruitment and training of new staff (reception and nursing) and GPs.
- Participation in the evaluation, development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Administer and report financials.
- Oversee the smooth running of the IT system by liaising with DMC IT provider as required.
- Assist the maintenance of the DMC website and social media to ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
- Awareness of patient complaints and compliments of the Practice and responding where appropriate.
- Involvement in quality reviews and the promotion of patient satisfaction including responding to GP critical incidents, including follow up debriefing of patients and/or staff as required.
- Involvement in DMC marketing and promotion especially for the General Practice.
- Optimising the cross-pollination of the multidisciplinary components of DMC.
- Regular liaison with key stakeholders relating the GP practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Practice Manager in a small-medium GP clinic for at least 2 years.
- Leadership, management, and motivational skills.
- Sound and effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Decision making competence.
- Ability to devise and review systems for operational efficiency and control.
- Sound understanding of the financial requirements of a small to medium business.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and education.
- Experience with Best Practice software desirable.
