We are a bustling, doctor-owned, mixed-billing, general practice in Ipswich. Our practice has been providing service and exceptional medical care to the Ipswich community and surrounds for over 100 years. We pride ourselves in quality, comprehensive, evidence-based medicine. We have fourteen doctors, three registered nurses and six receptionists at our practice, and cover a range of sub-specialties. We value integrity, professionalism and team-work in our practice. We are looking for experienced, casual enrolled or registered nurse to join our growing practice on a maternity contract with an opportunity for continuation for the right candidate. Qualifications & experience
- Appropriate qualifications (Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing)
- Medication endorsed
- Current AHPRA registration
- Current professional indemnity insurance
- Nursing experience in a general practice setting
- Two previous employers as referees
- COVID-19 vaccination certificate
- Familiarity with general practice IT software (eg Best Practice)
Tasks & responsibilities
- Provide nursing support to doctors
- Work alongside 2-3 nurses
- Administer vaccines & doctor-prescribed medications
- Apply dressings
- Assist doctors in minor procedures
- Coordinate health assessments and GP management plans
- Liaise with third parties, such as allied health specialists
- Assist in closing procedures (eg cleaning doctors' rooms)
- Place monthly medical supply order
- Stay abreast of public health news (eg COVID-19, Influenza vaccinations)
- Maintain and facilitate professional relationships within the practice and community, such as with Public Health & other associations
