Neighbourhood Medical is a flourishing general practice in beautiful Bardon, with a focus on women and children’s health. We are looking for an experienced RN to join our clinical team within our supportive, family friendly practice.
The role can be on either a casual or permanent part-time basis and may suit someone who wishes to continue part-time work elsewhere or work approx. 0.6 FTE. Remuneration and hours are negotiable.
Qualifications required:
- Current APRHA registration
- Current CPR certificate
- Experience in general practice would be ideal but is not essential
Summary of position:
This role requires excellent communication skills to develop rapport and a therapeutic relationship with patients, as well as working within a highly collaborative team environment, where initiative and ideas are valued.
The successful candidate must be able and willing to work autonomously when appropriate in this diverse role, which incorporates treatment room management, minor procedures and IUD insertions, a significant child health role including vaccinations, as well as chronic disease management for all age groups. Familiarity with modern infection control procedures is essential. Training in all of these areas will be provided if needed.
Enthusiasm for ongoing education and professional development is highly valued. Reliability, capacity to multi-task and demonstrate initiative and good time management are also key characteristics required in this role.
General Duties in this role include:
- Contribute to a warm and welcoming environment for all patients, as well as family and carers.
- Perform nursing duties in an organised and systematic manner in line with practice policies and procedures.
- Participate in practice meetings, collaborative planning activities and quality assurance activities.
- Maintenance of professional CPD requirements, registration and indemnity.
Other duties include:
Education, Health Promotion, Chronic disease management including assisting with preparation of care plans.
Treatment room operation including vaccine management and sterilisation.
Medical Tasks including but not limited to:
- Preparation of equipment for and assistance with minor surgery and IUD insertions
- Childhood and adult immunisation – administration and documentation
- Vital sign monitoring including BSL
- ECG
- Assistance in cases of medical emergency
