The Opportunity:
The Precious Metal Gala is Myer and the Myer Community Fund’s principal black tie fundraising event, which brings people together for a purpose, to raise much-needed funds to support the vital work of our charity partners.
An exclusive invitation only, charitable event has been held annually for the past 16 years and to date, the Precious Metal Gala is proud to have raised over $13 million to support people in need.
Funds raised through the 2023 Precious Metal Gala will support the Alannah and Madeline Foundation and Myer Community Fund charity partners nationally.
We are seeking an Event Coordinator to support the Myer Community Fund Community Relations Advisor with the delivery of the 2023 Precious Metal Gala.
Someone with excellent organisational skills and multi-tasking abilities, strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for helping others, will assist in creating an unforgettable fundraising event!
Job Overview & Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain donor/sponsor master spreadsheet
Support with allocation of donated items across fundraising activities
Liaise with donors/sponsors, Myer brand partners and suppliers as required to ensure donor/sponsor provide required elements in line with required timeline
Oversee and ensure sponsorship deliverables are met
Liaise with supplier and manage Silent Auction platform
Liaise with Event Management team as required, specifically relating to website updates of sponsor logo’s, level of recognition etc
Provide support to the Precious Metal Gala charity committee and field questions, where appropriate.
Assist with and coordinate event volunteers – recruitment, allocation of roles, communication, pre event briefing and onsite support
Develop signage and manage Silent Auction set up at event.
Liaise with donors/sponsors, PMG committee, Myer brand partners and suppliers, and key stakeholders as required.
Provide event support, assisting as required with set up, during and post event.
Assist with post-event tasks such as silent auction item payment, closing off any outstanding items, ensure records are up to date and accurately reflect status, documenting outstanding issues and resolutions. Communication to event donors (in-kind product donors & sponsors) with results and thanks

Well organised with excellent multi-tasking abilities
High-level attention to detail
Reliable with good time-management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or Sharepoint application
Ability to work autonomously and in a team
Motivated and passionate to make a difference through supporting charity
Prior event coordination experience is desirable, but not essential
