This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, in a team environment. The primary responsibility of this role will be to assist the students to engage with curriculum, programmes and strategies, developed and introduced by the classroom teacher. This position will be based on the Primary Campus.
Tasks this role will perform include;
· Assist children to engage with the Prep curriculum
· 1. Support students’ learning activities, including those with additional learning needs
· 2. Help motivate students and encourage participation in activities and events
· 3. Assist the teacher in the preparation of materials and resources
· 4. Follow all Workplace Health and Safety directions and requirements
· 5. Assist in other administrative tasks, as required to support the College
Requirements of the position
As a Teacher Aide you are part of a professional team of educators who have a passion for teaching young people. You have excellent communication skills, are team-orientated, show a willingness to embrace the challenges of a changing educational context, are reliable and trustworthy, and ethical. All of our staff understand, support and uphold the Statement of Faith that underpins our College ethos, which is listed in the online advertisement. Further requirements of this position are;
· 1. A genuine love for working with children, as well as patience and humility, as you support and assist in learning activities and social/emotional skills development
· 2. Support the administrative processes in the classroom, including preparing teaching resources and displays
· Maintain a flexible attitude to daily work flow and be adaptable to change.
Applicants must be eligible to obtain a Blue Card before commencing employment with the College. Applicants must have a practising Christian faith and be actively involved in a church. Position hours and salary
The hours for this position is during the school term only, including student free days. In Prep, a standard working day is seven hours. The salary for the position will be negotiated with the successful applicant as part of the interview process.
