To support the growth of our company, Bhagwan Marine is looking for an experienced Preventative Maintenance Superintendent to join our team in our Perth Office.
This Preventative Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining and managing the administration of Bhagwan Marine’s Preventative Maintenance System (MEX), including correct individual vessel setups in compliance with OEM manuals, SOLAS, MSC Circulars, AMSA MOs, Australian Standards etc. and other industry legislations. This position is also responsible for assisting with the planning and scheduling of the fleets refit program with the guidance of the relevant Technical Superintendents and National Technical Manager.
The successful candidate will possess strong, positive leadership skills and experience. You must have a solutions focused and practical approach to Preventative Maintenance and repairs and be able to prioritise and adjust to the dynamic changes that affect the industry.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Provide leadership and direction relating to vessel maintenance and scheduling.
- Provide training and system updates to all Bhagwan Marine staff.
- Ensure all vessels comply with the Company policies and procedures.
- Manage all requests, document and schedule changes within MEX.
- Troubleshoot various operational issues of MEX generated from either Ship or Shore.
- Document a schedule of planned maintenance for all vessels with assistance from the Operations and Technical Teams.
- Provide assistance to engineering activities resulting from vessel survey defects, inspection outcomes and audit deficiencies.
- Assist Vessel Superintendents with coordinating vessel repairs and maintenance including the appointments of shore-side labour and/or service providers.
- Assist Technical department to manage and control maintenance and repair costs within budgetary constraints.
- Assist Technical Superintendents to develop and maintain individual vessel dry dock/refits to a set budget and time frame with assistance of the National Technical Manager.
- Develop and maintain scheduled Preventative Maintenance Policies with the assistance of National Technical Manager.
- Ensure MEX generated work orders are monitored and closed in a timely manner.
- Liaise directly with MEX Australia to provide technical support for the company PMS.
- Setup MEX in incoming vessels.
Qualifications and Experience for the position:
- Marine Engineering qualification or engineering trade equivalent with an extensive knowledge of Marine applications.
- Diploma in Project Management (desirable).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with the following:
- Maintenance Planning
- Project Planning
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Project
- MEX 14.0.3.0
- Problem-solving ability and time management skills are essential.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
