About the RoleThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Actuary with strong analytical and problem solving skills to join our Retail Pricing Team. Reporting to the Head Retail Pricing & Sustainability Lead ANZ (Australia and New Zealand), you will provide actuarial support and expertise to monitor, develop and pricing for individual risk business. You will have responsibility for delivering projects for clients and managing the work of junior team members. You will form strong relationships with clients and operate as part of client centric cross functional teams.Your key responsibilities will include, however, are not limited to:
- Working as part of the Retail Pricing team to conduct pricing reviews of open treaties and price new business, managing large transactions where necessary;
- Using client portfolio knowledge and reinsurance insight to develop and implement innovative and sustainability solutions to meet client needs;
- Managing the development of generic pricing bases (Terms of Trade), pricing tools and models;
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, through discussing pricing and product development matters and negotiating terms;
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of local and global actuarial practices and trends;
- Monitoring local market intelligence, trends and developments (company, product, industry-wide), participating in industry bodies and influencing change;
- Collaborating with and coaching offshore team members; and
- Contributing to developments in data analytics, including monitoring experience and developing early warning systems, to deliver insights to clients.
About the TeamThe ANZ Life & Health Pricing team is a highly engaged team of qualified actuaries and analysts who take pride in our market and technical expertise. We continue to build on our strengths and innovate to deliver value to our clients and Swiss Re.
About You- Qualified actuary with 7+ years of experience working in the Life insurance or reinsurance industry, experience in Pricing is strongly preferred;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills;
- Must be a self-starter and independent thinker;
- Project management skills and ability to work to deadlines;
- Ability to make decisions based on sound business judgment;
- Experience with actuarial modelling systems such as MoSes or AXIS is desirable; and
- You enjoy team collaboration and contributing to the broader team on local and global business initiatives.
