About the Role
As the Principal Advisor, you will have responsibility for the following:
- Provide high level advice, support and quality assurance to ensure critical analysis of documents and processes, including correspondence, briefings, submissions, parliamentary and cabinet related materials.
- Manage the dissemination of strategic information, including the coordination of corporate processes for the division (such as annual estimates processes and operational planning) ensuring all stakeholders are able to contribute to strategic directions, policies and procedures.
- Identify issues and provide strategic advice to the Director on matters impacting the division through high level research, analysis, reports, and submissions.
- Develop, maintain and foster effective networks, consult and liaise with all areas of the department, Government agencies, the Minister's Office and other key stakeholders and partners to support the achievement of department objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Senior Executive Coordinator, Executive Coordinator, and to Correspondence Officers within the division to foster a work environment with a strong team focus that encourages commitment, professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Consult with departmental officers and brief the Director and Deputy Director-General, both verbally and in writing, on emergent and critical issues that may require sensitive management or immediate attention.
