About this role
You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.

The NSW public health system must be able to adapt in the face of ongoing health professional workforce challenges. Allied health is front and centre as a collective group of specialist professions with the latent talent available to transform access to care for the NSW community. We need a dynamic senior Allied Health leader with a passion for health system reform, comprehensive knowledge about the diverse range of Allied Health professions employed by NSW health, and an ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement statewide Allied Health workforce initiatives. The role provides advanced Allied Health leadership to also collaborate with the Health Professionals Workforce Unit and other key stakeholders to achieve multidisciplinary workforce strategic outcomes as outlined in the Future Health Strategy, Health Workforce Plan and other state-wide strategic documents.

Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $139,787 - $161,663 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing 

  • Lead and manage staff undertaking policy development, evaluation activities and projects for the Ministry of Health and related government agencies addressing current and emerging workforce policy issues for Allied Health.
  • Research and evaluate policies related to Allied Health workforce, in order to assess and advise on their relevance and their potential impact on Ministry and Government objectives.
  • Provide sound information and advice on current and emerging workforce policy issues to Senior Executives and key staff within the Ministry of Health, public health organisations and related government agencies to ensure issues are satisfactorily resolved or addressed.
  • Represent NSW Health on internal and external committees working on relevant workforce issues.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key staff in public health organisations and stakeholder representatives to maintain knowledge of issues and discuss and process matters that have statewide consequences.
