We are currently looking for a Principal Case Manager to join the NSW Independent Planning Commission. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your planning skills whilst working on state significant development projects that are at the forefront of growth in NSW. The Commission’s main functions are to:
- determine State significant development applications where there is significant opposition from the community
- conduct public hearings for development applications and other planning and development matters, or
- provide independent expert advice on any planning matter (but not development applications), when requested by the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces or Secretary of the Department of Planning and Environment
About You
The Principal Case Manager leads the project management of cases and provides high level executive, secretariat, and project management services including providing high quality written reports, strategic advice and decision documents within strict timeframes, and implementing strategies to support the achievement of the Independent Planning Commission’s strategic and operational objectives.
You will be a confident self-starter who enjoys building stakeholder relationships, possesses excellent communication skills and has strong attention to detail. You will adopt a hands-on approach to problem solving and be comfortable working both within a team and autonomously on tasks. Adaptability, agility and managing multiple tasks are key to being successful in this role.
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in a related discipline such as law, planning, policy or academic research.
- Current Australian Driver’s License and willingness to travel.
- Ability to work outside of core business hours and on weekends if required.
- Appointment is subject to satisfactory probity screening.
