The Queensland Police Service's award-winning Media and Public Affairs team is dedicated to keeping Queensland safe and informed. Managing media, external communications, social media and marketing on behalf of the QPS, you will have a front row seat in creating effective and engaging content for our large audiences. From managing media strategies for high level police investigations through to grass-roots community safety campaigns, your experience and skills will make a real difference to communities across Queensland.
The newly established project team is a small, multidisciplinary communications team responsible for researching trends, best practice, and emerging issues, and the development and delivery of evidence-based marketing and communication strategies in relation to the prevention of knife crime. This role will also be responsible for raising awareness and informing the community regarding legislation changes that support this initiative.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Develop, implement and evaluate integrated public affairs, marketing and communication strategies, policies and procedures to attract police recruit applicants.
• Lead and oversee the development of a variety of marketing and communications strategies and production of advertising material, including web-based products to attract recruit applicants.
• Develop quality performance evaluation methodologies to assess the performance of public affairs and marketing strategies.
• Provide high-level strategic public affairs, marketing and communications advice to QPS members, including the Executive Leadership Team.
• Oversee a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of a range of public affairs communication strategies and marketing events.
• Prepare submissions, reports, briefing material and general correspondence for senior management as required.
• Maintain and develop effective communication networks with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
• Represent the Media and Public Affairs Group and the QPS on committees, forums and meetings as necessary.
Role Requirements:
Nil mandatory - however, qualifications and/or experience in journalism and or/public affairs in a large geographically dispersed organisation will be considered favourably.
