Asset Planning and Services is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Principal Consultant - Business Cases.
If successful you will lead the development of infrastructure Business Cases for capital investment projects, which will include engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders and working with consultants. This role will require you to undertake the assessment of school curriculum requirements and asset condition to identify potential asset solutions to meet the Department’s service requirements. In addition, you will also need to draft parts of or entire Business Cases as well as project managing the development of other Business Cases.
The successful applicant will contribute to the Branch’s strategic directions and business plans creating an awareness of best practice, trends and issues concerning the core functions of the Branch. It will be the responsibility of the Principal Consultant to develop plans and systems to enable the achievement of team deliverables in alignment with Branch objectives.
The Principal Consultant will manage resources including financial, physical and information, to ensure availability and effectiveness to deliver on Branch strategic plans, contractual obligations and other organisational priorities.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
