We're seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional with a proven track record in Industrial Relations and a deep understanding of employment law. As a key player reporting directly to our Managing Director, you'll play a pivotal role in providing top-tier support to our team and esteemed clients across all facets of human resources, industrial relations, and workplace dynamics with the changing IR landscape.

You will be largely responsible for:

  • Advising and supporting clients in managing Industrial Relations matters, such as EA negotiations, drafting and lodgments, BOOT assessments, and EA interpretations.
  • Supporting the business in Enterprise Agreement negotiations and corresponding with third parties.
  • Supporting the team and clients with day-to-day people, culture and organisational capability activities and other major projects.
  • Drafting employee correspondence for clients.

Other duties may include:

  • Advising and supporting clients in managing their human resources needs, including complex employee relations matters such as grievance management, policy breaches and termination proceedings.
  • Advising and supporting clients in dealing with under-performance and facilitating performance improvement plans.
  • Drafting employment contracts using well established templates.
  • Interpretation and advice re modern awards, legislation, employment contracts and policies.
  • Assisting clients with People and Capability Strategies to create high performing, happy, engaged and healthy work places. 

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Along with an energetic ‘can do’ and pro-active attitude, you will also have the following:

  •  In house or consulting HR experience, with solid experience working within an IR capacity.
  • A Bachelor of Commerce qualification/Employment Law/Human Resources, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience interpreting Modern Awards, Company Policy, and Employment Contracts.
  • A strong understanding of the Industrial Relations framework and newly revised Better Pay, Secure Jobs legislation.
  • Focus on compliance.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills, including negotiation skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Approachable, honest, trustworthy and a team player.
